Sterling Hill Mining Museum

Hello again from northwestern New Jersey. I just had a very pleasant and informative visit at the Sterling Hill Mining Museum located in Ogdensburg, roughly 45 minutes northeast of us here at the Rosemary Inn in scenic Knowlton Township. Loaded with zinc, this mine was very important during WWII for the production of brass.

Many other minerals are mined here and certain rocks are partial to the region. All facets of the mine are explored on the tour, including equipment, conditions, emergency protocol, and standard mining procedures. Definitely worth checking out if you're going to be in the area.

Tours are at 1:00 on weekdays and at ten and one on weekends. Tickets are $11.
